New Nvidia RTX GPU is 14% faster in Cyberpunk 2077 for 5x the price of a 5090

The Nvidia RTX Pro 6000 isn't intended for personal gaming PC use, but when put to the test, it's got some impressive gaming performance.

Nvidia's mega-expensive RTX Pro 6000 workstation GPU has been put to the test in Cyberpunk 2077, Star Wars Outlaws, and Assassin's Creed Mirage to see how this bulky GPU handles gaming despite not having any game-ready drivers.

While the Nvidia revealed the RTX Pro 6000. One tech YouTuber, der8auer, has now put this workstation card to the test and found that it's more than capable for gaming, even if it might not be worth the $10,000 MSRP if this is your intent for it.

When testing the RTX Pr 6000 in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K using the Max graphical profile with no ray or path tracing, the GPU beat the average frame rates of the RTX 5090 by 14% and the RTX 4090 by 67%. In simple numbers, the RTX Pro 6000 managed an average frame rate of 120fps compared to the 105fps of the RTX 5090 and 72fps of the RTX 4090.

The performance margins are slightly lower for other tested games, with the RTX Pro 6000 claiming an 11% victory over the RTX 5090 in both Star Wars Outlaws and Remnant 2. Oddly, in Assassin's Creed Mirage, the margin drops all the way to 3%, with just a 5fps difference in performance between the RTX Pro 600 and RTX 5090, although it's stated that this could be owing to the lack of game-ready drivers for the workstation GPU.

While the RTX 5090 has been hard to get a hold of, especially at MSRP, there's an argument that in pure value , it's a much better GPU for gaming, and der8auer confirms as much in his summary, where he notes that the increased cost of production for the RTX Pro 6000 is heavily outweighed by the retail cost. This suggests that the RTX Pro 6000 is a card with huge profit margins attached to it.
