Translucent PC peripherals are back with a bang, as Razer has just dropped its gorgeous (to my eyes, anyway) Phantom collection. It includes stunning green see-through versions of the Blackwidow V4 75% gaming keyboard, Basilisk V3 Pro 35K gaming mouse, Barracuda X Chroma headset, and Firefly V2 mouse pad.
We have the Razer, and now you can get them in a retro translucent finish too.
Earlier this year, Corsair teased an Atomic Purple collection, which turned out to be nothing more than a cruel April Fool's joke. Razer, on the other hand, is deadly serious with the reveal of the Phantom collection.
Translucent PC peripherals had seemingly vanished from existence since they peaked in popularity in the late 90s and early noughties, with just occasional appearances in the Roccat Kone XP lineup, for example. As such, I'm delighted to see the return of see-through goodness, especially from such a prominent brand in the market.
The initial images look great, but ittedly, I have my concerns about how modern RGB lighting will mesh with the translucent design. Fortunately, we'll be getting a closer look at the set and will put it to the test to see how it looks and performs.
The entire Razer Phantom collection is available to buy right now on the Razer store and at approved retailers. Here are the prices for each of the products alongside handy links if you want to buy any of the gear for yourself.
